Today we took the boys and headed to Figueroa Mountain Park which is about 65 miles south of home. I was really hoping to find a single interesting tree to isolate against such a nice sunset, but it was freezing cold with a brutal wind so didn't take much time looking! It's not the composition I was hoping for, but settled for this which was quite pretty anyway. Yup, it was a good day and the dogs are sleeping with grins on their faces!
With the obvious exception of the frame and a very mild curves adjustment for contrast, this is SOOC.
So, so pretty, I went out this morning to do some of the trees with the sun, yes we had sun today, but it was so bloody cold I lasted two shots! lol Im a wimp I know.

love this feathery tree against that beautiful light and colour and the added fascination of the mountains - you can just imagine looking out from here and feeling totally at one with the world.
very gorgeous jenn :) even though i saw this before, i just saw it on the pop page, and i think i like the square version better :)) just sayin ;) i find the tree much more striking in the sqaure view :)
@taidster Haha--if only you knew how long I took trying to decide between a square or otherwise. I compromised and cropped sorta in-between, but I think you're right. Probably shoulda gone with the square! (And it's funny, because I think there are a LOT of shots that I see in a square format and think they look better than the crop posted!)
