Being consumed by nature

This is an old railway carriage abandoned on the 'Colliers way' line between Frome and Radstock.

The railway line first opened in 1854 to coal traffic, and to passengers a year later. It closed to passengers in 1959, but survived serving freight and the wagon works at Radstock until 1988.

Much of the original rail tracking is gone and the line is being overtaken by nature.

Route 24 of Sustrans National cycle/footpath runs alongside the route of the line but need to come off the tarmac route to explore it properly.
Great shot
