Great Seal by allie912

Great Seal

I grew up in a house that dated to the Revolutionary War so this seemed an appropriate subject to embroider as a gift for my father the year after my mother died. He hung it over the couch in his living room and there it remained til his death 28 years later. Now it hangs in my living room to remind me of my country and my family.
Beautiful work.

Yes,.....very appropriate subject matter .
Many years ago I embroidered this same designed and had it framed and it still hangs in my home. Small world sometimes.
Your picture is very good for this week's theme.

Very nice, and I agree, a good tribute to both dad and country.

Such a nice photo of embroidery and a lovely story to go with it. I used to cross stitch but haven't in about 13 years.

That's beautiful, and so filled with family history. My grandmother taught me needlework when I was about seven, and I've made many items through the years. Wish my eyesight still made it possible...I set aside the last of it some while ago...
