Traveling west on Broad Street we stopped at the landmark restaurant, The Triple. Here is a short review:
Fine dining, a bar and free games of pool make The Triple a fun place. Dim lights and neon strike purple walls and exposed brick, creating an artistic effect. Cozy tables nestle in one section of the restaurant, pool tables in the other. Innovative local artwork hangs throughout the place. It is best known for seafood. The seared salmon and fried oysters are delectable. Other fare includes creative choices like the Pork Cubano Sandwich, dressed with pickles and hot mustard.
The only trouble is, according to a sign on the front door, as of July 10, it is closed. What a shame. I conducted my well-honed librarian's research and learned absolutely nothing about the reason for the closure. I guess the weak economy took down another business.
That's too bad. You'd think with free pool that people would love a place like this. So sad, but you've captured a bit of landmark before it changes to its next establishment. Nice shot and a very fitting frame.
@allie912 Oh wow, we got in late last night and I was cramming to get all the posts viewed and commented on, read down through the food items and other offerings you were talking about, thinking, that sounds like a wonderful great place to stop, didn't read all the way down. What a bummer.
Nice colorful picture. after reading all the great things about this restaurant I came to the end and hey too bad that they are going to close. ...we had a nice family Chinese all you can eat buffet in town and then one day they were closed. I guess business was getting less as a little while ago a well known franchise opened up in town ..more or less the same all you can eat Chinese...(very popular place... there are at least one of these franchises in near by towns. .. the irony of all of this is that yet another independent one opened in the same spot that had just been vacated. so we were curious but very disappointed. .they had less to choose from and and much more expensive although the interior was beautiful .wonder how long they will be able to stay open.
@bruni It always amazes me when a restaurant fails and a noter springs up in the same location, as if they have somehow overcome all the factors that made the first place fail. Then, usually in a year, the same thing happens to the new place. We have a site in Richmond thatnhas been home to six different restaurants. Eternal optimizes or damned fools?
