Band of Brothers by allie912

Band of Brothers

Our power was back at school, so classes will start on Friday. Teachers came in today to make sure their rooms were ready. When I got on campus, I saw the church parking lot next door was being used as a staging area for many of the crews working in the area. As you can see we had teams from Georgia doing their part to get Richmond out of the dark. Every time there is an emergency, the trucks go out from all over the country to lighten the load for their brothers. This time crews from more than half a dozen states showed up. Here is a quote from a lineman from Missouri, "You've got to help them because I know that one day when we need it if there's a catastrophe, they will be there to help us too."
It's great to see people pulling together to get things back in order. Glad to hear that the school has power back and classes can begin. How is the construction coming along?

Glad to see everyone pitching in and that your school was able to open on time. What a great thing for the lineman to say, but so true. It restores my faith in the common person.

I think it is quite amazing how they team together to restore power during times like this. Many long days.

I am with Rick, teaming up to help each other out is amazing. I see the power trucks going down the road in a convoy headed to areas that have been hit by storms

It's wonderful that emergencies do often bing out the best in humanity.

That's so true! I remember when we had a horrible ice storm. My parents didn't have power for two weeks! We had so many lineman helping all across the state.
