You may remember that I am participating in a walking program at school in which you measure the number of steps you take each day. The goal is 10,000 steps a day for a healthy life style. Well I gave Maddie a purple pedometer of her own, and she was eager to take up the challenge. By the end of the day she had walked 26693 steps! This is a good indicator of the pace of a 5 year old. I I told her I will never be able to match her record which pleased her immensely. She told me this was her best Christmas present. Go figure.
Ha, what a nice story. Good for her for being so active, very healthy. And good of you to participate in that program as well. It can still be quite a challenge to get 10.000 steps a day.
Merry Christmas!
She looks very proud of her pedometer! I did one of those challenges for a while - mostly managed to get enough steps in, but I've been quite lazy since it finished...
my friend who just heard the description of this and is a big ped fan says - bouncing and/or dancing really racks up the steps; only fair we agreed. what a cute shot!
Merry Christmas!
I need to get mine out again. Great idea!
( Maybe all children should be issued with one on starting school) :)
