This third grader brought eggs from her family's backyard flock. When I questioned her as to what breed produced which eggs, she confidently responded, "These were from the black ones. These were from the brown ones..."
Good for her to be learning about her animals and the food products! I've recently begun to buy the local farm-fresh eggs in NS, and making meringues, I can absolutely taste the difference in a fresh egg white. And we all know how good a fried egg can taste! So did she leave her "Show & Tell Project" with you?
@Weezilou These were already spoken for. I said I'd like to purchase some from her, to which she replied, "Oh you don't have to pay for them." I told her it would be the beginning of a good business. And she ought to ask her mom if it would be alright. I remember many years ago another child brought eggs to school and I bought them. I'm definitely happy to buy local, free range eggs and encourage entrepreneurship.
