This first grade class was in the engineering lab this morning, designing shoes that fulfilled certain requirements. Depending on what group you chose, your shoe had to either be a) flexible and cool b) lightweight and warm or c)no slip and cushioned. And It had to fit their foot! They had several tables full of materials from which to choose, including bubble wrap, cotton balls and my personal favorite, duct tape.They had an hour to complete their assignment, and as you can see here, every one of them manufactured a unique piece of footwear.
Tooo cute!! What a clever idea to make their little brains work!! I love the duct tape one the best. You can tell her I'd wear them!! LOL Such a fun collage and the kids all look like they had a blast!! FAV!
That's (once again!) the most remarkable school I've ever heard of! I had to wait until I selected Fine Arts/Fashion Design as a major in college to come close to even thinking of this!
