Perhaps you wonder at my current fascination with alleys. Here in the west end of Richmond, alleys come in many shapes and sizes. In this block, for example, you feel like you are taking a walk on a country lane. I don't think all cities or neighborhoods have this phenomenon, but I may be wrong.
What I especially like about my alley walks is a sense of seeing the real life of people instead of the face they put on for visitors.
You're right, Allison, this doesn't look like an alley! To me it looks like a driveway in the country. But, then, you wouldn't be walking it! It's a very serene shot. (And, green!)
