Do They Think We're Stupid?

This container of mini cinnamon rolls was in the Teachers Room for anyone who wanted a snack. The name caught my eye: "All Natural" When I flipped the package over and read the ingredients, I had to shake my head. What part of modified cellulose gum and titanium dioxide is natural? Or maybe it's the phosphoric acid added as preservative. And don't we all add locust bean gum when we're baking cinnamon rolls? It might be funny if it weren't such an insult to the consumer's intelligence.
Perfect collage to show this!!

I'm sure there are a lot of people that would just "take them at their word" on it being all natural without even looking at the ingredient list!

Isn't there some kind of control that prevents a company from using "natural" when the ingredients contradict it? Great find. Love the collage.

It is so sad that our food regulations let companies get away with stuff like that. Kudos to you for flipping the package over and getting the details.

Craziness, indeed. That's why "truth in advertising" is an oxymoron!

Not to mention that "annatto" is actually also know as 160b, and although it is considered a "natural" colouring, it is one of the worst for people who are sensitive to unnatural things.... it used to catch us out all the time!
Now I know not to trust anything that says "all natural"!

That is so true. It's amazing what realy goes into some of the food we eat. I hope they were at least tastey.

I don't think wheat flour is naturally bleached either.

Where's the USDA agency that is suppose to protect consumers against this kind of false advertising? I think the producers of this product and others like it are counting that we will be too busy to actually look at the ingredient list.
