I think of the amaryllis as a Christmas flower since so many are given as bulbs at the holiday season. This plant was on my neighbor's step today, just as straight and full and perfect as you could ever want. Has she been keeping it under wraps since Christmas or did it arrive fully grown today? I don't know, but I 'm glad she is willing to share its extravagant beauty.
