I don't know what this dark red plant is called, but I often see it in flower beds here in Richmond. What I don't usually see is the bright green of an intruding vine, a rather discordant note among the deep red leaves.
I'm not sure what it is either. It sort of reminds me of a plant some used to call "Wandering Jew" but that was more of an indoor potted plant, so I don't think it's that. Anyway- the color contrast is so vibrant and makes those green leaves just jump off the page. Great shot!
