Open Wide

I wonder if you are familiar with the children's book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"? In that story one thing leads to another. A similar thing happened at my house last week. We got a new refrigerator http://365project.org/allie912/365/2012-03-19 and its shininess eclipsed the rest of the kitchen. So we got a new trash can and really went over the top in its selection. The name of the product is iTouchless Deodorizer Touch-Free Sensor 13-Gallon Automatic Stainless-Steel Trash Can and the coolest thing about it is you don't have to touch the lid. Here's the description from Amazon.com:
"The Touchless Trashcan uses patented, invisible, and harmless infrared technology. Simply place your hand or debris about six inches away from the infrared sensor near the lid. It will open instantly when you approach and will close automatically in three seconds after debris has been released and your hand moves away. The lid will remain open if debris or your hand is within the 6-inch range of the infrared sensor. "
Who ever thought throwing trash out could be so much fun!
That's really cool! Who ever thought trash cans would go high-tech?

Also, keep this up and I'm sure you will be able to re-do your entire kitchen.

Sheesh...who knew? If I didn't have a wooden trash bin hand made by a dear friend, I might consider this...(haha, who would have thought someone (me) would have a sentimental attachment to her kitchen trash bin?) Now that gives me an idea for a photo op!
