I'm sure all of you out in 365 Land, especially in those countries where American football isn't in your DNA, must think we have gone nuts at my school. The Head of School declared today Russell WIlson Day at Collegiate, and everyone was invited to wear official (or unofficial) team garb. The icing on the cake -- literally-- occurred when a local grocery chain donated 50 cakes to be cut and passed out at lunch time. All of this because the rookie quarterback now steering the Seattle Seahawks team ever closer to the ultimate prize of the Super Bowl is Collegiate graduate Russell WIlson. No one can predict what will happen this Sunday, but we are all enjoying the excitement today.
BTW, the adult in the group picture is our Lower School head who is clearly having as much fun as the kids!
It's fantastic to see a commumity get behind a sporting hero. All I can say is "Go Russell!" and "Go Seattle!". I'll have to check out the scores tomorrow.
