The last totally tourist thing I did was climb the 127 steps to the top of the tower of the church of St. Mary the Virgin. The staircase was narrow, steep and very winding. Woe to you if you met someone coming down! But it was all worth it when you reached the top. These are just a few sections of the almost 360 degree panorama I saw. When we returned to ground my friends and I paused in the sanctuary where the Oxford Philharmonic was practicing some sublime classical music. I felt as if I had been lifted up again.
