I continued on my walk this afternoon to the grounds of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. It was too beautiful a day to spend indoors, but I did wander on the lawn and around the pond. This waterlily was one of a kind. All the others, much smaller, were floating on the surface of the water, nestled in their leaves. This bloom was larger and rose from along the edge of the pond. I wanted to get a better angle but that would have required me wading in the shallows so I thought better of it and contented myself with this side view.
