I loved the juxtaposition of modern and traditional that I spotted in one of the classrooms. In this part of the morning's activities, students demonstrated to their parents and other guests what they had learned in their study of American history. This is often called "Project-Based Learning," a style of instruction in which students pose a question that interests them about their subject and then proceed to research the topic and create a product to demonstrate their knowledge. This student created a timeline about George Washington's life by means of a computer program.
