December 4th is National Cookie Day. It was also the day of the funeral of a longtime member of our church. He was a cookie lover, and his wife requested all kinds of cookies at the reception following the funeral service as a tribute to him. Ken was a World War II B24 pilot serving in the 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group in England; he flew thirty-five combat missions in the European theater. He was a man of many abilities and gifts. He will be remembered for both his service to his country and his sweet tooth.
