Sarah and Max pay a monthly fee to have their compost picked up by this local company. Then periodically they bring a bucket of freshly made composted soil which is perfect for Sarah's garden. The main customers of this business are the local restaurants. You can see they are represented by the various stickers on his cart. They also sell worms for composting and are exploring the idea of expanding into food shares for people who don't garden. Isn't this a wonderful way to truly "give back"?
What a great business idea, Allison! In the last couple of years, our city required people who live in private homes to collect their compostable kitchen waste and yard debris. At first people complained (have to admit I didn't immediately love it either), but now it's second nature. We don't even get the resulting composted soil in return, but I'm pretty sure it's going to a good cause and it is WAY better than adding it to landfill.
