A Visit to the VMHC

On a lovely Spring day, I thought I’d head over to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture to see their exhibit honoring the wives of POWs and MIA of the Vietnam War, the women who took on the U.S. government to bring their husbands home from Vietnam. When I got to the parking lot, I was surprised to see,how crowded it was.Only when I entered the museum did I realize I had arrived just in time for a Banner lecture, this time given by Nancy Shepherd, author of Hampton Roads: Murder & Mayhem. It was a rouser, full of stories of greed, betrayal and vengeance. I had a chance to chat with the author afterwards. She gave a shout out to school librarians so you know she is a the real deal!
Nice photos. I've never heard of the book, but the wives of the POW's and MIA's are close to my heart. We lived in Virginia Beach during part of the Vietnam War. I'd love to see the exhibit.
