Visit to the Museum

I did something I had never done at the museum — I took a docent-led tour. There was only one other person, a gentleman from Luray, Virginia who had driven in for the day. To be honest, a tour is only as good as the guide, and unfortunately our guide wasn’t able to go off script. She did take us by a fascinating range of exhibits, from India to Art Deco but what I really enjoyed was the special exhibit I went to later on my own: Art from the African-American South including quilts from the Gee’s Bend Quilters. We have several books in our library about this fascinating group of women. Google it to find out more.
