The Reef

While in Gatinburg, TN, we visited Ripley's Aquarium.

It was a really great aquarium and we were so glad we went. A great thing to do on a cold day.

And afterwards, we fit in a hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (which was my reason for choosing to visit Gatlinburg).

Stopping here was a great way to break up our driving to Florida road trip.

Last night, we were hit with really awful winter weather. I was working until late...after 11...and when I got to my car, my windshield was covered in ice and my blades were frozen. Snow was coming down hard and pelting my face. It was painful, like a sandstorm, but icy. I wasn't dressed properly to be out in the storm, had a heck of a time scraping the ice with my crappy little scraper (thankfully a coworker came to the rescue with deicing spray), but I still had to chip the wiper blades out. Driving home in the heavy snow on unplowed roads was super scary and slippery, too. Praised God when I made it home safely. I lost control once in the snow but thankfully made it ok. YIKES. I got home wanting to go back to the beach. Crazy that was a week ago.
Glad you made it home safe...crazy weather found us finally. I like the expanse of this aquarium wall in relation to the silhouette. Nicely composed.

Love your photo! Your drive home sounds awful. Glad you are safely home. Do they make covers for your windshield? If not, they should!

Praise God for you safety!

Your photo looks so much like some that @olivetreeann does with her mad editing skills. Awesome that yours is not. Amazing light through the water and fabulous silhouette

A lovely calming scene. Glad you made it home okay. I used to hate driving in snow when I lived in the UK. That was one of the reasons why we came to Australia.

Stunning image! I'm glad the park was open for you. I would be the first to go in a storm like that--no experience with it and no equipment. I admire your ability.

Beautiful photo. I'm so glad you made it home safely. That was much too late for you to be out in the roads in such terrible weather.

@henrir Yeah, I didn't have much of a choice unfortunately. The manager was really helpful with the ice, though.
