While in Gatinburg, TN, we visited Ripley's Aquarium.
It was a really great aquarium and we were so glad we went. A great thing to do on a cold day.
And afterwards, we fit in a hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (which was my reason for choosing to visit Gatlinburg).
Stopping here was a great way to break up our driving to Florida road trip.
Last night, we were hit with really awful winter weather. I was working until late...after 11...and when I got to my car, my windshield was covered in ice and my blades were frozen. Snow was coming down hard and pelting my face. It was painful, like a sandstorm, but icy. I wasn't dressed properly to be out in the storm, had a heck of a time scraping the ice with my crappy little scraper (thankfully a coworker came to the rescue with deicing spray), but I still had to chip the wiper blades out. Driving home in the heavy snow on unplowed roads was super scary and slippery, too. Praised God when I made it home safely. I lost control once in the snow but thankfully made it ok. YIKES. I got home wanting to go back to the beach. Crazy that was a week ago.
Your photo looks so much like some that @olivetreeann does with her mad editing skills. Awesome that yours is not. Amazing light through the water and fabulous silhouette
A lovely calming scene. Glad you made it home okay. I used to hate driving in snow when I lived in the UK. That was one of the reasons why we came to Australia.
Stunning image! I'm glad the park was open for you. I would be the first to go in a storm like that--no experience with it and no equipment. I admire your ability.
