After an extremely challenging school year as a one on one special Ed aide, I was offered and accepted a new position as an aide in the same district's preschool program.
I'm so excited as I will get to help mold kid's first impressions about school and help set them up for success. And there will be singing (and hopefully dancing) in my role!!
This year, I was verbally and physically abused by 7 year olds (!) daily, almost constantly. It left me almost fully depleted for my family. I am so beyond grateful for the change and praying for mostly sweet kids who don't know the words F-ing b#&$@ or Mother F-er and hopefully won't spit in my face or headbutt me. One can hope, right?!?
Happy for a new, hopefully much more fulfilling chapter!!!!
More than being happy for you about the new position, I am shocked about all the "evil" 7-year-olds can do! You weren't kidding? What kind of school was it?
I hate you had to go through all of that but I am sure you helped make a positive impact on that student and now you will be able to have a positive impact on even more children! They are lucky to have you in your new position! Your face in this selfie tells it all!
Sounds like you should have had police sitting in your last posting! You should have taken a recording of them and sent that to the parents! Glad you are needed in this new job!
I worked with emotionally disturbed children for a few years, I know exactly how difficult that can be
I apparently failed to comment on this one at the time!
