Today's Sunday travel photo is from the Helsinki-to Stockholm overnight ferry. We were very fortunate to receive a random cabin upgrade from a bunk cabin to a huge cabin with a picture window. I stayed up most of the night watching the panorama from our cabin window with the midnight sun gilding the thousands of tiny islands and rocky outcrops with isolated summer houses and saunas.
We sailed through Mariehamn (the capital of Aland, autonomous territory under Finnish sovereignty) where we let off one passenger. Stopping there, apparently, allows duty free alcohol shopping on board!
It's almost magical.
