ARISUN - b&w by annied

ARISUN - b&w

This was taken just at the end of the Darling Harbour walkway at the corner of Liverpool and Dixon Streets looking down Dixon Street.
I couldn't decide between the colour and b&w version - so the other is here..... http://365project.org/annied/365/2016-01-05
The Sculpture is very similar to one that is a permanent feature at the Auckland Botanical Gardens and that was made by a local ( to me) engineer.. wonder if it is the same or someone copied.. like the B&W edit.

@julzmaioro apparently the piece was designed by Sydney born Peter McGregor

I prefer this version, the b&w really emphasises the wet and dreary weather we are having.

@onewing it does - but I was drawn to the yellow sail like things in the colour version

Another one that I like - stop it.

@graemestevens i will ................................................................
not
January 5th, 2016
@graemestevens well I might......................coz who really knows what comes next?
January 5th, 2016
@annied I certainly don't. I'm in a...strange...place at the moment so I'm just rolling with it. I do like this though, most excellently excellent

@graemestevens "at the moment' I hope its nothing serious

@annied Not at all, just weirder than usual.

my eye was drawn by the arisun side of the pic...it wasn't til I read the comments that I realised I was supposed to be looking at a sculpture...silly me...prefer the b/w
January 5th, 2016
b&w hands down
January 5th, 2016
@maree_sanderson haha I actually took it because of the ARISUN and the sails above - the sculpture became interesting when @julzmaioro was curious - i then googled

It's fascinating how different the mood is. The wet pavement really did good for you here.
January 5th, 2016
b&w for me, the reflections and shapes really show in this version.
January 5th, 2016
Love the B&W version, it really accentuates the reflections on the pavement :)
January 5th, 2016
Hard decision... I think I also prefer this one as all the different shapes stand out more in b&w.

Like this one!

lots of scale and wetness annie
January 5th, 2016
I like both, but no surprise that I prefer this one!
January 6th, 2016
I like this in black & white.
January 6th, 2016
@francoise it did :)
@dibzgreasley they do - it does suit the b&w
@hermann the reflections are what drew my eye
@bella_ss @chimfa @ukandie1 @skippysue thank you so much for commenting - makes my day :)
@phil_howcroft hahaha and it is still wet here

Both are effective, tho' I do like how the B&W effect emphasizes the shining metal in the foreground!

Beautiful line. B and w = 100%
