I was just talking about mince pies with my brothers & sister...... who liked them and who didn’t and what was actually in them since none of us make them. What do you put in yours?

Oooh yummy. I love mince pies. We had store bought mince pies and coffee first thing this morning, but at least I made my own Christmas cakes (3 of them actually to make sure we didn't run out too soon!)

@beckyk365 dried mixed fruit, some of it put through a mincer, suet, some grated apple, sugar, limited spices, brandy or sherry. Though I've made a lovely one with only pale fruit and glace cherries!

@anniesue ahhhh yours sound better. Our mince pies are actually called mincemeat pie and have some kind of mystery meat in them. Not a fan.

@beckyk365 in the olden days (medieval times) they used to have meat, but they've progressed! We have things like shepherd's pie and cottage pie, which are minced meat pies ;-)
