I painted a triptych about 5 years ago, each picture similar to this - one red, one green and one a sort of mustard colour. A friend of mine wanted the red one but I didn't want to separate the triptych. Hence I painted her her own red tree picture. It's done with acrylic paints on blocked canvas. The canvas is 1,2m x 0,45m. I can post a photo of the triptych should any of you be interested. @salza
@salza - sally, this is beautiful. if you have the photo of the triptych. i'm pretty sure it is as beautiful as this one, and you know i've admired your arts for so long.
i've been dithering about painting on that big canvas i bought last month, thinking i'm too ambitious, but you just might have inspired me and maybe i will do it one of these days.
@salza ... this is superb. Amazing canvas size. That would intimidate me. The composition is lovely. I would definitely love to see the triptych.
On the photography level: i am just glad it's not only me who needs to hire someone for a reasonable photo of a painting... 😄 it is a good thing that we all met on this gardening site... or wait... is it gardening?
@salza l like the minimalist subject and the painting is superb. This is a really large canvas so a very industirous effort, especially to do a triptych. What type of paint did you use?
@summerfield thank you Vikki. I find doing smaller artwork more difficult. And I still struggle with watercolour @monikozi who'd have said that we usually have a camera in hand 🤫 @wakelys thanks Susan @grammyn I have used acrylics for this. As I said to Vikki, I struggle with small canvases. @30pics4jackiesdiamond thanks Jackie
@salza I think I am the opposite. I think I like doing small pictures better than big ones. It could be the miser in me though because I don’t like to spend money on the paint!
Not the best photo, think I will have to take another photo
