In spite of all the commercial oomph about Christmas with the aim to encourage spend , spend , spend --I have managed to ignore this , sort of bury my head in the sand and now with only a few weeks to go -I feel I can indulge in the preparation of Christmas in my own way !
As I illustrated yesterday I am enjoying my daily Vit C with the beautiful and tasty Satsumas , My Christmas cakes are made and now are ready for the marzipan ,icing and decorations ! The baking of the mince pies , a few left out to be eaten, s the rest put into the freezer in readiness for any unexpected visitors !! and a batch of pastry breadcrumbs for the quick and easy making of further mince pies !!
Presents and Christmas cards are in hand and now I am itching to get the decorations down from the attic !!
I feel in charge as I have time to do all I want to do at my own pace without rushing and getting exhausted !!
Christine works the opposite to you. She is at this very minute in full swing preparing the house decorations - something she will do on her own without anybody's interference except me connecting the lights. When she's ready to do all the baking. Those mince pies are exactly the same she does them - very delicious.
