I love to visit this shop with its rich leather smells - lots of handbags , wallets ,purses , some footwear , belts , gloves etc ,
I called here on my way to the garden centre the other day !
Now for the moan !! - my luck doesn't seem to have changed this January - Ist it was the washing machine saga and yesterday afternoon my freestanding food mixer packed in on me so cross - I hadn't gone for an expensive one - thinking at my time of life and the amount of baking a cheaper model would suffice !! - wrong !! As it was still under guarantee I took it back and had a choice of a replacement or refund - I chose the latter so I can chose a better model - At the moment searching an comparing like for like on the net , I think I may go back to the Kenwood Chef When I 1st got married I had Kenwood Chef which lasted me for over 25 years and by then there were no spare parts available to repair ! Today's motto is buy and throw away . ! Ooh well !! I wish you all a happy weekend whatever the weather is wherever you live Today is bitterly cold , we had threats of snow earlier but now its sleet and rain ! I suppose our winter weather is on the way
that's neat as a pin! I hope you get a better food mixer - sometimes with the throwaway mentality even the more expensive ones don't last like they once did!
I love the smell of leather too. Hope you soon sort the food mixer, Beryl Thank you for your supportive comments left on my posts here and on FB, very kind. Ray took his blood pressure today on his home machine and it was down to normal whereas it has been up to 220 (!) on the high figure. Just hoping for a quiet time now.
It’s a shame because Steve has got a lovely Kenwood Chef complete with all the tools that belonged to his mum who died in 1984. He has tried to sell it but hasn’t had anyone interested probably because it’s too good and people want to buy the latest cheap one that just doesn’t last!
This sounds a wonderful shop to visit. Apparently there's a move afoot to demand electrical items which we can repair. Many are just impossible to get into. There's a community where they dedicate one Saturday a month to helping people repair their electrical goods. It was featured on TV recently, sorry can't remember where it was.
I love the smell of leather too Beryl.....you can’t beat leather! Bad luck with your mixer.....you go & treat yourself to a Kenwood! Lydia & DIL Lesley have one of those Kitchen Aids each. Lydia loves cooking & her boyfriend bought her a pale green one. Good you got a refund. I’m just in touch with Gtech about our carpet sweeper, the handle keeps dropping off!
I would love to look around that shop it's name made me smile Handbag Heaven. I have a kenwood chefette bought in the early 70's that is still going strong but not used so much nowadays.Hope you have a lovely weekend Beryl and keep warm.
( in our city a Lady has a shop she made them all handmade by herselfs.)
Sorry to hear about the mixer, but at least you have got a refund and will be able to choose another one soon.
