Question?

Day 127 - Are these doing what nature intended or is the bee on top a sinister bee killing the other one?
(Sorry it's not very clear, but the bees who have taken up residence in my bug hotel, right next to where I took this, were really buzzing and seemed a bit hyped about something)!

sure is what you think - that male is much smaller than the queen. they mate outside, and then once she goes in to lay the eggs she won't leave the hive again. getting a photo of this is not common so well done!
