We had an amazing and totally unexpected opportunity this morning as we traveled a familiar road near the National Bison Range. This incredible, 7-point bull elk was ambling leisurely along the fence line right alongside the road. I was able to take lots of photos. This was one of my favorite ones. This elk was all alone and not actually on the Bison Range, which was a bit farther down the road. Don't know that I'll ever get such a wonderful opportunity again. We must have watched it for ten minutes or more!
