King Edward School by bkbinthecity

King Edward School

This weekend was Mother's Day. We spent yesterday with my Mom and today with Melody's Mom.
We were with her parents at a special church service. Since we arrived early l was able to walk around and take pictures.
This is King Edward School which opened in 1914. It originally had 17 classrooms and seperate play areas for boys and girls.
A large meeting room on the ground floor also served as a social centre for the community.
The noticeable feature outside is the tall central tower.
One of the shining moments in its long history was when King Geoge Vl and Queen Elizabeth visited the school during the royal visit in 1939
Nice capture of beautiful school it is always good to arrive early.
