Lovely lovely! Saw this on the popular page and it just sprung out at me - gorgeous detail against that wonderful blue sky!
Re: Walthamstow - it will have changed a lot since your partner was last here and not always for the better. The empty square is in place of what he might remember as the old Arcade shopping mall - an ugly 60s-ish very small parade of shops next to the cinema. My viewpoint for this pic is actually from standing in Hoe Street, looking towards the top end of the High Street. The Arcade shopping mall was pulled down (in expectation of the mentioned fab leisure redevelopment) - but it all fell through and the council have not managed to get anything going again ... nobody seems to want to invest in Walthamstow ... You can tell him also that the cinema's closed and boarded up (subject to planning disputes - see sad story here http://365project.org/islawight/365/2010-03-19) and the greyhound track (iconic Walthamstow building) has also closed (mixed about that - as I'm not sure the greyhounds were always treated consistently well).
Responding back to your comment on my latest photo: I really just started getting into birding earlier this year. I have searched online to find out about what each bird is and just never bought a book. It would probably be much easier though.
Beautiful Frieda. So glad you could take an upbeat and sunny photo. As you know i haven't got a profile picture and neither have you...ever considered changing or are you undercover? :-)
Just lovely!
