Steven Gene Wold - aka Seasick Steve is an American blues musician, orignally from Oakland, CA.
First time I saw him was in 2008 when he walked past me at a Grinderman concert in London - he was one of the support acts. He liked to walk though the audience and say hello to as many people as possible.
What a guy! Modest, lovely, kind, quirky and oh so talented. He's been enjoying a massive breakthrough in the UK for the last few years and has become very popular.
Tonight he grabbed a girl from the audience, sat her down next to her and sang her a song. Lovely thing to do and she throughly enjoyed herself - sometimes sending rude hand gestures to her mates still down in the pit to make them jealous :-) Fun!
Wasnt sure what pic to use. Had some of him standing up getting the girl, but he wasnt singing. He only sings and plays sitting down, and unfortunately from the pit, the speakers are in the way to get the whole of his body in. I thought an action shot was nicer even if tightly cropped. Fun weekend, 3 days of music, photography and sunshine, just my thing!
