Sorry, took this yesterday, no time today with gloss work and getting ready for dinner - Eddie is coming home any minute after being in Cambs overnight for his interview :-) Looking forward to seeing him and hearing how it went.
Our garden is slowly filling with more species or birds and we were pleased to see a Song Thrush appear last weekend, eating the mealworm we put out. It was a really common bird in my childhood, its the first one I've seen for a fair few years as its numbers are declining in the UK. Got one frame before it flew off :-)
Goodness me, am turing into such a twitcher!
EDIT: after all that, am not very good at this bird spotting lark - this is a mistle thrush, not a song thrush apparently! Markings are the same, but this one is much bigger, almost the size of a jay. Got a lot to learn!!!
Love this shot, the focus is great. Glad to know you are seeing this bird again, maybe it's numbers are picking up; the chest feathers are lovely. And what the heck is a twitcher?
Ahem... a bird watcher is someone who enjoys watching birds (moi!) a twitcher is someone who is obsessed with counting bird species and rushing round from place to place making lists! Seems to me, girl, that you are now officially a bird watcher! LOL Brilliant capture of the thrush. Will have to show Chris he has competition!
@Cherrill Ha ha, no competition - am but a novice, he's the real deal - wonderful photographs too! Hey, we've loads of bullfinches and goldfinches too, but not been able to get a good enough snap yet. One day!
Great capture of the bird, by the way
