... Poor Lucy, behind bars. She was bad at the vets today, worst ever been, so worked up, trying to escape, jumping off the table & wiggling out of vets grasp. Oh sweetie. Took 3 staff to hold her down for a blood test, with me helping too. She was ok with boosters and stuff tho.
Good news, no fleas found but bad news, her blood test showed her kidneys suffering again. Vet want her in for the day for urine sample and more bloods but will have to wait a couple of months as vet trips means takes her a couple of months to come near us and trust us. Gutted.
@katriak She was ok as a kitten, but a different vet overdosed her with painkillers (10 times the amount should've had), nearly killed her and she spent a week in lockdown in hospital, having her kidneys flushed, she was 18 months old.. She has an overwhelming fear of vets and strangers since, tho she was nervous anyway. She'll now not come indoors and will run away from Ed and I, esp if we are together for some weeks. It's so sad.
@blightygal Oh dear so she has a good reason! My guys were just crazy bengals. But after such experience there's nothing really to be done to make it better I guess
@katriak Yes, this is it, that fear will stay and is very real for her, understandably. We've decided not to take her for urine sample, she won't do well being in the vet all day (we know she won't wee either) and don't want it to end with a needle in the bladder after 10-11hrs of stress in a cage. There's little point, kidney failure can't be cured so don't need to know the extent. We will just try and help her with her food, which is only thing we have that helps take the stress from the kidneys and get her bloods done in 6 months or so.
