What a thunderstorm we had! I love a thunderstorm, they're amazing shows and the air afterwards smells lovely. Started about 2.40am, was still going at 7.30am this morning, wow. And our daft cat stayed outside in it, could see on the garden CCTV camera in the morning. Blanket inside the treehouse was half soggy, silly girl. She is still on occasion flinching if I go near too.
Oh, for a normal moggy who's just.. normal! This is getting a bit tiresome to be honest, not much I can do that keep calm & kind with her and wait for her to get her silly head together.
Silly cat. It's the bengal thing, they're cats sq 2. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever get a bengal again even though I loved my girls to bits. They were lovely but also extremely eccentric, each in very different ways but still eccentric
@boxplayer Wow, really? They were so bright in Wanstead, our security cameras at Ed's dad picked them up. Got a fab one with a straight line of lightning that could be seen from the bedroom camera!
@katriak The reason we got another bengal rescue was because Leo was just so awesome. But, beginning to think he was the exception, rather than the rule. He was so chilled out and so very very smart. His only weirdness was he hated other cats, in a big way, which is why he was up for adoption in the first place.
@blightygal My Sissi was always very loving and attached to me which is nice but as she grew older it grew more intense like an obsession which became a problem through separation stress. Saga was extremely anxious girl all her life and had some issues in peeing all over the place.
@katriak Oh blimey, both with their quirks. Bengals do latch onto one person don't they? Both Leo and Lucy latched onto me, not Ed, but Ed's not so consistent if know what I mean. Leo luckily didn't mind me out, but Lucy shouts for me apparently.
Did you ever manage to stop the pee? Leo peed against the bin, next to catflap as a territory thing (a lot, we got several new bins over the years!) and a couple other random places which I didn't always notice. My friend from cat's protection rescue has that with her latest rescue that she adopted, anything that smells of other cats, he pee's on for marking. The food and supplies I donate has to be put straight into her garage otherwise it gets sprayed!
@blightygal It never stopped for good, but it was much more rare in her later years. I got some advice from a cat behaviorist on how to organize furniture for a less stressful environment, but of course it's individual for each cat.
