What I see all day

I'm not going to lie...Covid-19 frightens me. More and more ct scans of the lungs are looking like this. The white patches are signs of infection. The lungs normally are all black which indicates air. The white on these images means that the lungs can't breathe.
For comparison, this is what a normal CT Chest should look like: https://radiopaedia.org/cases/normal-ct-chest?lang=us

That's a lot of white - to be honest, as much as we love travelling being "stuck" in sleepy little NZ seems to be a good place to be at the moment. I watch the rest of the world with despair - having said that, we also have our share of "Covidiots" who just don't seem to "get it" either...stay safe.

Unusual but interesting, and a cautionary tale. I'm going off now to wash my hands !

So scary! Thanks for the reminder. It's easy to think it's over here because our state of emergency is over. Never mind the 500+ new cases a day because, well, the economy!

That looks very scary, I am glad we are out in the countryside and don't see many people. For you it must be very terrifying, stay safe and cover up!

It must be terrifying the work you are doing. I'm trying my best still to stay far away from people and always wearing a mask.

Are you a health care worker? That is a scary image. I have scoliosis which has reduced my lung capacity so my doctor just flat out told me I’d better not get it. So I mask up and mostly stay in. Hubby goes out with mask, sunglasses hat and now a shield as well. Since masks aren’t required our numbers (Sacramento CA) are soaring like yours.

@shutterbug49 yes, I work in radiology, ct dept

Some people just don't get it! I just read an article that the virus can also wreak havoc on your kidneys, liver, heart, and possibly neurological problems. Keep safe

@sprphotos indeed, it does. I have imaged it all. I have nothing good to say about Covid-19.

Seeing this so very often now must be very difficult. Take care.

Oh Krista, this is frightening! Take care.

So scary

Scary reminder. So glad to be in NZ, just wish those escapers would appreciate their paid for quarantine. We all had to to it.

It makes us very glad we are in NZ - as others have said. I'm glad the sick person can't see pictures of his lungs!

Real frightening, Krista.Take care.
So glad we live in a thinly populated part of our country.

@blueberry1222 Thank you for serving on the front lines so to speak. It must be so hard to see those images every day and know what they mean.
July 12th, 2020
Thank you for sharing. It is a scary reality. I wish more people get the big picture. Your photo is a good and honest reminder.
July 12th, 2020
wow that's sobering
July 12th, 2020
Thanks for showing, very scary. stay safe Krista
July 12th, 2020
I can only echo all the rest above! Take care of yourself and stay safe.
July 12th, 2020
I'm glad this is not yours or you family's pic. Stay safe and as they say 'sane'!
July 12th, 2020
I can not explain that. Certainly, our approach to the disease is caused by a lack of authorities we would believe. We currently have the most infections at weddings and this type of events. Well, but the government gave permission for these events to take place. Stay safe.

Keep safe

Whoah…! Tht’s bad…!
I need to go in for treatments one to two times a month, and, honestly, I take my hat off to people like you. what you do every day is so massive.

Gratitude for being there and sharing knowledge. When I go "into the city" its for a no contact, grab my CSA box contents, swing by my sister for a social distance wave, and roll back to home base. Sending strength to you.

OMG that is so scary. I have chronic respiratory issues with (minor) lung damage so I am being ultra careful and staying home. TAKE CARE, Krista!! Thanks for sharing this strong image -- so informative
