This boulevard is one of my favorite areas in town. When we first moved up here my oldest son was a newborn. My parents lived at the end of this blvd and I used to put my son in the stroller and walk the 2 miles over to their house several times a week. Eventually I would take all 3 of my kids on walks down this blvd to Grandma's house. Now we take our grandkids trick-or-treating here. My parents have long since moved from their house and we moved away as well so I don't get over there much any more. I was in the area today and decided to drive down the blvd just as the street lights started to come on. The neighborhood is much the same as it was all those years ago ....it really was a stroll down memory lane. By the way, my oldest son is now 28....how time flies!
Beautiful, nice capture and processing. The associations we form between places and feelings are wonderful to revisit. Very reassuring to know we can recapture past moments this way.
Wow! I love that this has great meaning for you, and you captured this sentimental place really, really well. Well worth framing and reminiscing over. THIS is a photograph. :)
Paula you brought the beauty of this blvd out in your photo. I like the position of the lights and the way you processed the shot. very nice. I am enjoying your project very much.
Thank you all for your super nice comments. I have to admit I wasn't really crazy about this one when I submitted it because it ended up looking kind of harsh. It doesn't show what a historic neighborhood this was and still is....both sides of the blvd are lined with very large older homes that are architectural works of art. This used to be one of the most upscale areas in town and still is to some extent but now there are many new developments with brand new McMansions that all look somewhat the same sprouting up allover the place. Walking down this blvd in the fall when the trees have turned colors is good for the soul and in winter when nearly every home is decorated for the holidays it's magical. It's nice to revisit the past occasionally!
That must have been really special to visit and I'm sure it brought a flood of memories back! How wonderful that one place can bring such wonderful feelings. I love this photo and your history behind this awesome memory lane!
Very pleasant shot.
