This bad boy was clear down at the end of the gravel road and just kept walking towards my truck until he was uncomfortably close. Then he turned and walked down into the ditch and into the trees. He seemed oblivious to us. This was taken at the Alligator River Wildlife Refuge in Manteo, North Carolina. I love this place and even after spending nearly a week there I hated to leave.
Terrific capture!! I love this photograph of this absolutely magnificent animal. He looks in perfect form and condition, just stunning. A marvellous experience, to see one these incredible bears so clearly. I can well understand your reluctance to leave. I hope you are able to go again soon.
