I had a day at the Olympic Park with my son and granddaughter. We didn't have tickets for any of the sporting events but just enjoyed a day in the park. This shows the orbit with the stadium in the background. I'm not sure what use the orbit is apart from being a piece of art. Everything was extremely well organised and clean - mind you it was the first day. Travel to the park was very easy with plenty of half empty trains! The wild flowers were amazing - I may post one tomorrow.
The Orbit has a restaurant and spiral steps on the outside leading to the viewing platform - it certainly is wonderful there and you have portrayed it as it is!
We're going down to see the Badminton at Wembley area on Saturday morning, I'm not sure if our tickets will get us into Olympic Park in the afternoon or not but worth a try, judging by your photo and comments.
