Plums by busylady

Plums

We have a small plum tree on our allotment which has produced fruit for the first time this year. Rather than make jam I decided to bottle some of them. It's less work and more useful!
nice one judith , i hope they taste as good as they look :)

We have plums trees all over the garden but we also have plum disease and they all go mouldy and rot. Any suggestions because your crop looks beautiful?!

This is a dying art of bottling Judith but perhaps it is in vogue again! i think Kilner jars are reinvented now. You have made these plums look beautiful...I would be proud to have those in my pantry!

@phil_howcroft @happypat @cookie123 Thanks for all your comments. These Kilner jars are ancient but we managed to find some new rubber seals and rings from Leifheit. Hooray for the internet. I've also bought bottling jars from Lakeland. @judithg I can't help with plum disease I'm afraid although I think my husband sprayed them earlier in the year. I'll ask him when he comes in what he used.

I like the way you softened the edges. And the fruit is beautiful.

Fantastic! There is something so luxurious about bottled fruit. And lovely to have your own!
