I had a day out with friends at this National Trust property today. It was built in the style of a French chateau by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild. He used it to house his extensive collection of art treasures. He didn't live here of course, but lived in London, this was just his country house which he used for holding shooting parties! The weather was pretty awful today while we were in the house but cleared up later so we could look round the gardens.
