Lucy Boston's garden by busylady

Lucy Boston's garden

I'm not sure what these flowers are called perhaps someone knows and could let me know? We visited the garden this afternoon as part of a tour with the Quilter's Guild. Lucy Boston is famous for writing the children's stories about the Children of Green Knowe. She hand-made 23 patchwork quilts in her lifetime starting in her 40's and made her last one aged 92! We were given a fascinating tour of the house - and of course saw most of the quilts - by her daughter-in-law, Diana Boston.
These are gorgeous! What a fabulous colour and the story is inspiring!

Lovely flowers and Nigel's mum bought all the Green Knowe books for the kids. A friend of mine knows Diana Boston well and raves about the house and her tours but I just can't remember which friend! Didn't know Lucy Boston quilted...

@beryl @rosiekind @happypat Thanks for all your tries at helping me to identify these flowers. I should have asked while I was there. Diana Boston was such an inspiration and loves her garden.

@judithg Well worth doing the tour - even if you get the gardener! Diana is passionate about her garden and has so many fascinating stories to tell about the house.
