St Albans abbey

Some more shots from my day in St Albans last week. The original abbey was begun in 1077 and it was granted cathedral status in 1877. The modern statues top right were difficult to capture due to the light coming from the windows above. Thank you all for your kind comments about our dog Betty. She has perked up a bit today and eaten a bit more, so of course I'm now feeling guilty about the dreaded appointment on Friday. However, I know that she's not going to get any better and I'd only be prolonging her suffering if I was to delay any longer. I was surprised and delighted to see my cake pic on the PP recently, thank you all for your fav's.
