Water Level DOWN

There is a slower draining of Lake Tapps that has happened in the past, so I have been told. Usually by mid December there is a river only going down the middle of what was the lake. As you can see, it is down, but not as dramatic as we thought it would be.

Draining lakes are good for the lake. Hope there is enough rain to refill.

@cirasj That is the main reason for the annual draining, help with snow melt in the spring. Original reason for the lake was power generation, now flood control, recreation and planning for a source of drinking water (yea, sure)

@byrdlip Thank you. I get concerned when there is not enough snow melt or rain to fill a lake. My in-law's have a cottage on a lake and sometimes the water does not recover.
