We had an interesting afternoon visiting this house and gardens. The garden has the most extensive topiary collection in the UK , an dit and the house had a wonderful warm feeling. Probably as the house is still lived in in one wing. It took us 25 years to actually get there.
This is beautiful. It's funny how you can take so long to go somewhere close to home. I mentioned to hubby last night that the bridge over to the island of Skye has just celebrated 25 years of 'being'. Despite being fairly close to us, we have never crossed that bridge. We've been to Skye on several occasions, but pre-bridge! We have to rectify that, but we'll wait until next year when visitors are more welcome to the area, I think.
@jamibann thanks. I too have only been to a Skye a few times but before the bridge. When it was built, though a plus for tourism, it seemed to detract from the adventure. I am Scottish also but live in Cumbria and still have the opportunity to enjoy the wilder side of nature.
I don’t live that far from here but ashamed to say I have never been yet...I need to rectify that!
I have been to Sky loads of times but only by ferry from Mallaig...the bridge us t quite the same somehow! @jamibann
