Dried Hydrangea by calm

Dried Hydrangea

A gloomy, gray day with tornado watches in the area until evening, so I opted to photograph something inside today. Last fall, I cut and dried some hydrangeas from my yard. They were blue in bloom, but they dried lavendar and pale green. Today I sat the vase on my kitchen table, using only natural light from the window.

The 365 Project has exceeded my expectations. I love looking at photos from all over the world, and I so enjoy looking at all the ones I have faved from time to time. I am learning from you. But I also love that 365 is a community of people with a common interest, who share a bit of themselves in photographs and commentaries. Although I photograph just for fun, I am so grateful to those who take time out of their busy lives to look at my photos, and to comment. You all have been so kind! Please know I also welcome your suggestions... just keep in mind that I only have a compact digital camera, and just know the very basics about computer enhancements. I hope to learn and improve in the days to come!
Very pretty. Gorgeous colours and focus.

Are you familiar with iPiccy.com ? It's a free editing web site. I've tried it and it's as easy and fun as picasa3.

Lovely close up picture; you have mastered the depth of field on this shot. Lovely colours too. You mention tornado watchers & I am assuming that you live in the USA. Can you tell me where as you don't mention it in your profile & it is interesting to hear what other people are experiencing?

These have dried a really lovely colour and you've captured it beautifully with the natural light.

@paulat10 I live in Southwest Virginia, in a small rural town nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. The tornado watches became warnings until the wee hours but thankfully no major problems. I will add that to my profile... it does give a reference point for our photos!
