Rushing Water by calm

Rushing Water

Days and days of rain... creeks and rivers are swollen and overflowing their banks. Schools have been closed due to many roads being covered with water. In the summer there is hardly a trickle of water coming down this gorge but today there was an avalanche of water cascading down... roaring loudly! I risked life and limb to climb down over a rocky embankment to get this perspective. Slipping and sliding over wet rocks and leaves, I carefully made my way to the base, my greatest fear being snakes, because the weather has been far too warm for winter. Thankfully, I didn't encounter any. Other than deepening the shadows and adding a frame, this is SOOC. Only 4 to go!
It's a stunning capture and I love the framing. Well worth the effort!

@judithg @kathyladley Thanks for your kind comments... and I plan to stay on at a slower pace, hopefully learning a new camera and new editing program. This project has been great therapy for me and I'm not ready to walk away. Besides, I have to keep up with what you two are up to!

Great capture, and way to make lemonade out of the lemons weather we're having! We actually saw the sun in Bristol today and it was fantastic. I hate to say it, but I'm really hoping we get some snow in the next day or so.
