The first snowdrops have appeared in the garden. Or at least, I first noticed them today. Soon the daffodils will follow, a sure sign that spring is on its way. And another milestone as I move on from the losses of last year. Ange's spirits would always rise as the first spring flowers emerged from the sodden winter soil, and the lighter evenings pushed back the dark nights, minute by minute, day by day.
